Post subject: daimler limo

I have a 1980 daimler ds420 Limousine and I have a strange electrical problem.
The interior roof light where the driver sits, works fine. All the interior roof and floor lights for the backseat section stay on and the only way to turn them off is to disconnect the battery! i checked the door on/off button and its covered in grease?(is this normal? was this done to keep water from shorting it?). Any tips are appreciated. This car is just like a jaguar from the same year.
